Cath Lab Nurse Full-time Job

Roles and Responsibilities

Preparation of Cardiac Catheterization Lab, inventory and stock update day to day based on usage in procedure.

Receiving of patient for procedures ( pre cath list, investigations, site preparation, pre medication, consent, monitoring of vital signs & patient Assessment)

Surgical hand wash, gowning, gloving, mask, usage of PPE, handling splashes, aseptic technique,

Preparation of procedure trolley, patient positioning

Assisting in Angiogram, PTCA, Pace maker, IABP and other cath procedures

Medication Management: Medication dilution, infusion and management ( nicoran, adenosine, NTG, Dilzem, heparin, sodium nitropruside, narcotics)

Oxygen therapy face mask, nasal cannula and venture devices

Assisting in intubation, Suctioning- oral & endotracheal

Hemo dynamic patient monitoring - pre procedure, intra procedure and post procedure

Handling of procedure complications - angina, bleeding, hematoma, vaso vagal reaction, contrast related.

Handling & assisting pediatric patients for procedures

Transfer of stable & unstable patients

Patient safety- patient identification, positioning, fall prevention, privacy & confidentiality, vulnerable patients

Cleaning , disinfection and maintenance of department

Fire Safety protocols, handling code red

Incident reports- reporting medication errors, adverse events, ADR, sentinel events
