The DevSecOps team within DMS IT supports the entire Dell Medical School and the community we serve to create useful, secure, user-friendly applications covering work being done in clinical, research, graduate and undergraduate medical educational, and community outreach domains.ResponsibilitiesLead a high functioning team with minimal direction.Balance technology needs with business, customers' needs and demands.Lead initiatives, as defined by leadership, to improve efficiency, embrace new technologies, and improve our overall security, system administration and/or support processes.Manage the process of evaluating our tools and migrating applications, databases data to cloud-based systems wherever necessary.Evaluate and recommend new technologies for domains based upon business value drivers and return on investment; drives new technologies towards implementation and adoption.Lead the deep dive analysis of all vendor certified platforms and document in all technical aspects.Escalate issues and risks, and their business impact in a timely manner with proposed mitigation. Actively seek and remove impediments to team success regardless of where they originate.Plan and manage large scale technical projects; Responsible for independent evaluation, selection, substantial adaptation, and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.Manage and improve Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)-based processes used to support technical solutions: Incident Management, Requests Fulfilment, Change Management, Problem Management and other policies and standards as needed.Perform other related duties as assigned.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree plus eight (8) years of progressive IT experience including a minimum of five (5) years of direct experience leading a team of technical resources, including recruitment, administrative, performance and resource planning and delivering enterprise solutions and five (3) years of experience with Applications, DevOps, or Cloud. Demonstrated Technical ability. Demonstrated ability to lead a high functioning team with minimal direction. Must be willing to work with the architects and engineers in rolling up the sleeves but have the ability to quickly interface with leadership and manage vertically as well as horizontally. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical audience. Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, process, and systems engineering. Project and program management planning and organizational skills. Ability to lead technical evaluations and conduct R&D in emerging technologies. Demonstrable ability to manage several projects concurrently. Awareness of how to properly handle sensitive data, such as Protected Health Information (PHI), and adhere to HIPAA, FERPA, Common Rule, and other regulations. Familiarity with academic, biomedical, clinical, or health research. Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) components including, but not limited to: Revenue Cycle, HIM, Population Health, EMPI, Enterprise Reporting/Analytics, mobile applications, middleware,etc. Broad knowledge of LAN, WAN, voice and video technologies e.g., routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, network and routing protocols, SDN, DNS, VoIP and their related traffic patterns. Broad knowledge of staple IT technologies e.g., operating systems, servers, virtualization, storage, software development, and their related impacts as it pertains to network resources. Able to demonstrate detailed understanding of architecture principles and methods, technology and standards.
