Hours will be discussed during interview.PurposeUnder direct to general supervision, responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, upgrading, and supporting IT systems that meet Dell Medical School business requirements. The Technical Analyst supports Dell Medical School equipment, and is the key technical resource responding to end user desktop incidents and requests reported to the Service Desk. Problems beyond the scope of their ability or responsibility are communicated in a timely manner to senior-level support personnel. The Technical Analyst adheres to and supports Dell Medical School policies and procedures, and recommends process changes that improve the implementation, maintenance and support of IT&S desktop equipment, A/V equipment and software.ResponsibilitiesInstall and repair equipment and software per IT&S standards and guidelines, including but not limited to terminals, personal computers, printers, cabling, and related software products.Respond to and resolve inquiries and requests for assistance with computer systems, and provide a superior customer support experience for Dell Medical School users.Analyze and provide hands-on support for simple to moderate inquiries. Determine appropriate technical area or vendor to resolve the problem and coordinates with other technical areas, as needed.Log and track problems in Service Now.Perform school-based moves, adds, and changes as needed.Maintain documentation for each incident or request, and escalates complex problems to the next level of support.Aid and train users on school technology.Perform preventative maintenance.Recommend process changes that improve the implementation, maintenance and support of IT&S desktop equipment and software.Effectively work with customers, Service Desk and Technical Services personnel.Participate in meetings, committees and continuing education to improve individual, departmental and organizational performance.Maintain and protect confidentiality with regard to all aspects of patient care and employee information.Mentor junior staff and work to develop the collective team towards more mature processes and technology discipline.Administer and monitor the performance of assigned discipline technologies, performing required maintenance and upgrades as appropriate.Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for assigned discipline technologies.Participate in infrastructure planning and implementation, providing insight into the future of their discipline technologies.Promote standards and support migration efforts to the future infrastructure.May act as key resource for a project team.Analyze a chain of events and applies knowledge following established procedures.Participate in design, contributing insights and ideas.Help formulate project scope and objectives.Successfully troubleshoot most applications problems independently.Responsible for writing fundamental documentation in a clear, concise manner, adhering to standards.Coordinate front line support of Audio/Visual equipment including video conferencing, video capturing and other technologies.Identify and document faults and failures within complex Audio/Visual systems.Assist with troubleshooting and minor repairs of various technology equipment, consisting of but not limited to laptops, projectors, microphones and cabling.Assists with technical walkthroughs and event support.Other duties as required to meet organizational goals and objectives.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED and 3 years of relevant experience or an Associate's Degree and one year of experience.
