PurposeThis position will support the Assistant Directors of Research Operations and Child Mental Health Programs by managing data needs for the Dell Medical School - Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health's multi-site Texas Childhood Trauma Research Network (TX-CTRN), Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT), and Child Psychiatry Access Network (CPAN) programs.ResponsibilitiesPerform data management functions, data manipulation, and dataset preparation for client analyses involving multiple stakeholders.Receive, manage and deliver requested data tasks; work with data requestors to translate data requests into logical queries using standard language and tools.Follow a documented, transparent process for each request with an overarching service orientation and customer satisfaction approach.Serve as an internal resource to investigators and research personnel to answer questions related to data access, data aggregation, and data management.Troubleshoot with data requesters, data analysts, and research staff at different sites to resolve data quality issues and data discrepancies.Work closely with investigators, research staff, biostatistics, data analytics, and informatics sta across all network partner institutions as part of the TX-CTRN Data Core.Extract, clean, and manage data collected via REDCap application or from SQL data warehouse by following approved processes/protocols for ad hoc data requests to support publications approved by the CTRN publication committee.Extract data from the TX-CTRN data warehouse for ad hoc operational needs (e.g., monitoring enrollment and retention of participants by sites).Work with Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) data systems engineer personnel to refine data warehouse views, reports, and dashboards based on needs identified by research requests and operational requests.Work with TACC data systems engineer personnel in design and development of automated ETL processes.Develop understanding of the data collected in REDCap with an understanding of the workflow of data capture and attributes of fields. This includes an understanding of what is being measured through the instrument scales and data quality and curation workflows.Develop working knowledge of the extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes of the data from REDCap to the TX-CTRN Data Warehouse.Monitor for compliance with regulatory, internal and partner requirements (such as IRB approval, Dell Medical School and TX-CTRN policies) needed to access or share health data.Other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree and five (5) years experience in a data-related eld such as data analytics or database management in a healthcare or research environment. Proficiency in writing SQL queries. Working knowledge of data analysis and manipulation software such as R or Python. Basic statistical knowledge for descriptive statistics and data cleaning/validation. Working knowledge of database management principles and various data architectures. Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the proven ability to produce professional documents in MS Power Point and develop complex Excel models. Ability to work with and capitalize on a diverse group of professional skills and personalities in a collaborative team environment. Demonstrated excellent analytical skills, problem solving ability and strong critical thinking skills. High degree of self-motivation and ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance. More than five (5) years experience in a data-related position in health care delivery. Application of data privacy practices and laws to ensure privacy, condentiality and security, including HIPAA. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records and/or psychological assessment scales and measures. Management and analysis of large, complex clinical/non-clinical data. Translation of research questions into appropriate statistical methods. Working knowledge of REDCap application for research data survey collection.
