Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited institution with an outstanding academic record in bioinformatics, bioengineering, genetics, computational sciences, software engineering, a directly related field. Two (2) years professional academic experience as a software Developer including one year of software Developerpment with Python, Django, and JavaScript. Experience with object-oriented computer programming, relational databases, and web Developerpment. Working knowledge of biology, genetics, statistics, and laboratory procedures through course work job experience. Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree from an accredited institution with an outstanding academic record in bioinformatics, bioengineering, genetics, computational sciences, software engineering, a directly related field. Experience with any of the following: Unit testing Continuous integration SQL fdata analysis and object relational model web frameworks Python/pandas and/R fdata analysis and visualization Laboratory information management systems Majbiomedical genomic and cancer databases Linux operating system High Performance Computing clusters Workflow managers and/workflow definition languages Configuring and using HTTP servers with Nginx and/Apache Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced proficiency with at least one modern programming language, preferably Python. Ability to work independently and within a cross-functional team, including outstanding written and verbal communication, documentation, and presentation. Facility fidentifying and applying novel software solutions. Ability to design and create innovative, robust, thoroughly-tested, and well-documented applications. Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, attention to detail, and accuracy. Enthusiasm and dedication fproject and team success. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
