The Position: Associate medical coding professional will be accountable for: Using the TMS (Thesaurus management system) Application, perform timely and accurate categorization of verbatim text from assigned clinical trials to standard medical dictionaries and nomenclature (MedDRA and WHO Drug Global). Code while ensuring knowledge of virtual or current dictionaries that the trials are using. Where necessary, coordinate with the CTDM to ensure timely query management in the TMS application. Coordinate with the trial squad to ensure that the coding status is current, as per scope, at milestones. The Associate Medical Coding Professional oversees a specific trial and is the point of contact for coding questions. Perform ATC coding on concomitant medications with multiple ATC (Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical code) codes based on project/trial requirements. Collaborate with medical specialists and the trial squad on ATC coding requirements for the trial/project. Assist with manual ATC coding, as per trial requirements. Coordinate with Clinical Trial Data Manager/Medical Specialist for ATC reclassification codes. Update the codes in TMS and communicate on task completion. Ensure compliance with internal and external coding procedures by coordinating with Senior/ Medical Coding Professional and Global Safety and maintain contact with relevant external organizations. Provide confirmation to the trial team regarding the coding status and report on the status of coding for clinical trials. Verify that all terms are coded on the trial at key milestones. Qualifications: M.Sc. / B.Sc. in Life Science or comparable degree in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, veterinary science or clinical information management or equivalent qualifications. 0-2 years of experience within Pharma industry or Development.
