PurposeThis position will provide oversight and management of clinical financial, operational and administrative support of the Neurosciences.ResponsibilitiesOversee clinical financial operations. Assess the financial performance of UTHA clinics through comprehensive analysis, budgeting and forecasting. Monitor for changes, forecasting issues, identifying areas of concerns. Make related business recommendations to accomplish financial goals and address issues. Prepare monthly and as-needed comprehensive financial and statistical reports. Establish internal guides and workflow systems to maximize effectiveness of fiscal operations.In coordination with supervisor, oversee Neurosciences clinical financial functions; including preparing annual departmental budgets and forecasting, accounting and reporting, funds management, and internal accounting control and compliance. Responsible for the preparation of monthly summary reports, annual financial reports, and forecasting and planning reports for Neurosciences. Review budgets for completeness and accuracyManage financial transaction processes in the department to ensure timely and accurate processing of all requests and compliance with all university and medical school business policies and procedures. Review monthly transaction data for accuracy and request journal corrections as necessary. Monitor expenditures against clinical budgets. Prepare monthly budget to expenditure variance reports. Develop forecasts to aid leadership in programmatic business decisions. Carry out ad hoc reporting and analysis in support of Neurosciences clinical mission.Proactively monitor and correct FTE cost allocations of clinical faculty, staff and on a monthly basis. Manage submission, tracking and execution of clinical contracts. Collect data for invoicing out clinical faculty and staff services. Coordinate with central offices to ensure accuracy of monthly invoices for contractual agreements. Cross-train and provide backup to other team members.Other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree and five years of experience in finance or accounting with experience in planning, forecasting, and financial analysis or Master's Degree and three years of applicable experience. Extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles; general ledger systems and procedures. Broad knowledge of financial planning and budgeting, analytic, project management. Proficiency with MS Office Suite and excellent data management/analysis skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
