Data analysts will work together with research coordinators, statisticians, clinical and biomedical investigators, and other relevant professionals to guarantee the implementation of a statistically analyzed data plan.----Job Details:ResponsibilitiesExtract and curate medical data from various sources (ie, inpatient and outpatient electronic medical records) for clinical research projectsCollaborate with research coordinators, statisticians, clinical research investigators and other research faculty to implement a data and statistical analysis planManage, reformat, enter, edit, merge and maintain data in preparation for analysisConduct validation checksDevelop data collection forms, ensure quality assurance and establish procedures and policiesQuery reports for problematic data (erroneous or illogical data values); send to supervising faculty, research coordinators and clinical/biomedical investigators for resolutionTransfer data among different formats for analysis purposesAnalyze data using statistical or mathematical software to generate descriptive statistics and develop statistical models and graphicsPrepare tables and quality graphics of statistical results for inclusion in interim and final reports, presentations, abstracts, manuscript submissions and grant applicationsCommunicate statistical results to supervising faculty or staffOther duties as assigned.Required QualificationsRelated experience typically exhibited by a Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field and five (5) years of relevant work experience. Demonstrable experience writing SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. Knowledge of the generally accepted data principles and electronic health record systems and extraction procedures. Strong organizational skills, a flexible work style and be able to manage multiple challenging projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment. Experience maintaining confidentiality. Ability to assess competing priorities, manage workflow, and meet operational deadlines. Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team. Demonstrated ability to explain and ensure compliance with policies and procedures in a polite but firm manner. Problem solver who anticipates future issues and outcomes.
