DBA-Mainframe Full-time Job

Knowledge of handling Db2 DBA activities in Mainframe Production Environment.

• Knowledge in Db2 Object Management (Creation/Maintenance/Functioning of Database, Tablespace, Table, Index etc.).

• Knowledge in Db2 Online utility (Reorgs/Runstats, Backup/Recovery, Repair, Rebuild, Load/Unload utilities etc.).

• Knowledge in Db2 common commands (Stop/Start Databases, Display command, cancel thread and term utility).

• Knowledge in Db2 Grants to users for appropriate groups/authorities, familiar with DB2 privileges.

• Knowledge in SQL, knows how to query Db2 catalog/directory tables and find necessary information for system usage.

• Should be able to understand zOS terminology, should be familiar with JCL used by Db2.

• Knowledge in REXX/CLIST.

• Should be able to troubleshoot Db2 Job failures and assist Application teams.

Good to have : Exposure to basic Db2 activities on LUW platform
