Aerial Sensor Operator Full-time Job

Job Description - While deployed in the field, the airborne sensor operator is responsible for operating airborne remote sensors or cameras to collect data.

In addition, the operator is responsible for setting up ground-based GPS stations and download ing and shipping data and film.

While in the office, the operator is responsible for QC of data or other duties as assigned.

Coordinate with Aviation Manager to determine if re-flights are required Have a fundamental knowledge of computer operations and the aptitude to operate high-tech sensors during flight as well as data processing software in the office or hotel room

Be willing to travel up to extensively, for long periods, with minimal notice

Can make independent decisions in an environment with little or no direct supervision

Perform operational duties associated with the acquisition of air borne LiDAR and imagery (airborne LiDAR and camera system operation)

Coordinate flying missions with the survey pilot or aircraft provider

Quality control of acquired data

Carry out flight planning duties for operations

Technical qualifications in Lidar and camera systems and or spatial science and or photography

Comfortable operating in unpressurised light aircraft at various altitudes for extended periods

Operating knowledge of aerial survey sensors and flight planning software
